Igniting the Imagination: Creative Approaches to Teaching Language and Literacy.

2012 CALL Conference: Call for Proposals

June 6-7
Seneca College

"Focus on imagination; otherwise, creativity is just finding better ways to do things you already know about." (John Seely Brown). How do we go beyond creativity to imagine new ways of meeting systemic challenges in the teaching and learning of English in colleges today? Is one answer to be found in literature? Does technology hold the key to engaging students? Does collaboration with partners outside of English unlock new awareness and opportunities for the teaching and learning of communication skills?

Seneca College is proud to be this year's host of the annual conference of the College Association for Language and Literacy (CALL). Join us this June 6 - 7 to explore these questions through the theme, "Igniting the Imagination: Creative Approaches to Teaching Language and Literacy." You are invited for two days of inspiration, information and collaboration focused on the teaching and learning of English in Ontario colleges.

This conference will be of particular interest to full-time and part-time faculty involved in the teaching and support of English and General Education in the college system.
